How to Workout Twice Per Day for Weight Loss

If you want to workout twice a day, then that probably means that you want to burn fat more quickly than the regular once-a-day-workout.

To do this properly, you’ll have to change a few things about your routine, because you can’t be doing the same thing two times in one day, as it may cause painful consequences. Not to mention that you might feel too fatigued to do anything else, which is a big no-no if you have work or studies to tend to. Simply put, just do some simple adjustments and keep in mind a few key points.

Workout Time

The time of your workout should be in the morning and in the evening because this will allow the body and its muscles to be able to relax for the longest time possible within the day. Also, once you get used to this schedule, so will your body. Moreover, take note to only do this every other day, because your body will need adequate rest, as well as an adjustment period to the whole twice-a-day workout idea. For example, do this only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, then on Sundays, you can do one normal workout. Or you can do this starting on a Tuesday.

Calorie Deficit

This is one of the key points that you have to keep in mind because this is where losing weight counts the most. To explain it simply, a calorie deficit is where you burn more calories than you consume. Also, to put it differently, it is the difference between the number of calories you consume and the amount you need, as well. For instance, when you need about 2,000 calories and only consume 1,500, you will have a 500 calorie deficit, which will result in burning about one pound a week if done on a daily basis properly; in the case of consuming 2,000 calories, you can always burn off 500 calories to let calorie deficit occur, as well.

Make Variations

Do different workouts in the morning, and another set of different workouts in the evening. In essence, don’t repeat an exercise in a day. This is because when you do the same exercise on the same day, you’ll be putting unnecessary strain and stress on the muscles you used earlier in the day. To put it simply, do high-impact exercises in the morning (jumping rope or running), and do low-impact exercises in the evening (using an elliptical machine or stationary bike). Observe this with care, as this is one of the key points, as well.

Lift Weights

When you lift weights, you don’t burn that much fat; however, what you’re after is to build lean muscles. Not to mention that it will increase resting metabolism, and will make you likelier to succeed in losing weight overall.

In short, all you have to do to work out twice a day is to: Follow a schedule, do the proper exercises at the right time, and make sure to let calorie deficit occur to lose weight. Remember that all it takes is a little discipline and determination.
