Health Tips to Prevent Acne

Pimples are the most common skin trouble of the teenagers.

Although the occurrence of acne has some hereditary factors, most of the time, the factors have just something to do with the lifestyle and diet. Before we go to the health tips, we discuss what acne is first.

What is Acne?

Acne is formed when the pores in the skin get clogged by dirt or dead skin cells. Sebum, the natural oil which lubricates the skin, gets trapped inside the pores and causes infections. When the infection gets worse, the skin would swell up and redden.

If acnes are scratched, it can lead to bleeding and soon form a scar.

How to prevent acne?

Here are some health tips to prevent the occurrence of acne:

Always clean your face

This is the basic rule. The parts of the skin that has more exposure to the air like the face should be kept clean as they are most likely to collect dirt. When your skin is oily, it means your skin is secreting more sebum and the dirt stick to the skin more. Wash your face twice a day. Washing too often can also lead to loss of natural oils to moisturize the skin. You can opt to use mild soaps or facial foams which are especially made to prevent acnes.

Moisturize your skin

When the skin is too dry, the face is at risk of acquiring dead skin cells. To prevent this, apply a moisturizing product compatible to your skin. Choose the products with vitamin E as this will have great benefits for the skin cells. For the hands and body, apply lotion.

Avoid make-ups

It is always best to leave the skin in its natural state. But for women, who inevitably use these products, use the ones that are suitable for your skin type. Clean your face religiously after work because leaving the make-ups overnight could irritate the skin.

Taking care of the skin is hard to deal with especially when you’re exposed to dirt every day. Learning some preventive measures and health tips can help reduce the occurrence of these unsightly skin troubles. Always consult with a dermatologist to get the best treatment when situations get out of control.
