So what causes these weight loss occurrences in the body?

What is in green tea that does these things? The answer is quite simple, really. It is all in green tea caffeine.

Green tea caffeine works well in relation to weight loss and obesity management because it induces the process of thermogenesis, wherein the body produces body heat to slowly burn out the fats. Having at least six cups a day will allow green tea caffeine to actually increase thermogenesis at around 100 kilocalories a day. Green tea caffeine also stimulates fat oxidation, which is the body’s process of burning fats and using them as energy.

Fat oxidation is not necessarily linked to the amount of fat consumed, wherein the body will have a positive balance of fat when there has been an excess consumption of energy sources or even a restriction in physical activity. When the number of carbohydrates you are consuming increases, there is a greater chance that the same carbohydrates you consumed will increase your available stores of fat.

This will then decrease the amount of fat being oxidized, thus increasing the amount of available fat. However, when food energy is decreased or when your exercise levels are increased, fat oxidation will increase as well. This means that while a high level of carbohydrate intake does not always lead to increased fat stores, high intakes of fat will generally be reflected in the fat stored in the adipose tissues.

So there you have it. Aside from the health benefits that tea provides, green tea caffeine really does a lot for the health of a person.
